This week we introduce the CDM4140, the latest DLNA-based mconnect module from South Korean audio streaming innovators ConversDigital. The CDM4140 is a high-performance network audio module for Hi-Fi products, designed for the high-end consumer market and network-enabled applications such as DAC, amplifiers, media hubs, wi-fi speakers, stereo speakers and soundbars.
The CDM4140 allows users to access media services and stream digital content virtually anywhere, using any iOS or Android mobile phone or tablet, and enjoy a flexible and unrestricted digital audio and entertainment environment.
The CDM4140 represents the latest evolution of mconnect technology, giving designers access to extensive connectivity and support for numerous protocols, including DLNA 1.5 and UPnP AV 1.0 over wired LAN and 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, Spotify Connect, Roon Ready and now Apple’s AirPlay2 (Apple Authentication co-processor required, not included). The module also supports MQA (Master Quality Authenticated), the new ultra-high resolution digital audio format that utilises an advanced encapsulation process to faithfully recreate the original master recording at lossless streaming quality.
- Up to PCM 384kHz and DSD256
- Gigabit Ethernet and Wi-Fi
- MQA full decoding up to 8x (384)
- Includes AirPlay2 support
- Optional integration with Spotify, Deezer, vTuner, Roon, Tidal, Qobuz and more.
mconnect Software Platform
With the CDM4140 you can expect ever-evolving interoperability with all DLNA devices on the market, and comprehensive network audio features such as multi-room synchronous audio with both cloud server access and internet music service integration. Spotify, Deezer, TIDAL, Qobuz, Roon and vTuner are just some of the platforms supported.
The mconnect Software Platform is designed to support the development of connected A/V products and related services. This includes the mconnect DMC (Digital Media Controller), a library of DLNA/UPnP protocol stacks for mobile apps. With the mconnect Player app and Control app (iOS and Android), developers are guaranteed ongoing software support for ConversDigital modules, as well as regular firmware upgrades. The apps act as a fully operational network music player, with an intuitive interface, playlist management across servers, and the Control app’s extremely marketable party mode functionality.
